The Hyder celebration was a weekend-long experience honoring a 75th birthday, a 50th wedding anniversary, and a housewarming, all hosted at the family’s home. Guests traveled from around the world to attend, and the family came to us with a vision of five distinct events along with full-service hospitality for every meal.

I led the creative direction and managed the full scope of planning to bring that vision to life. Each event had its own unique aesthetic. I designed all the florals, helped plan furniture and floor plans, assisted in the coordination of personalized guest gifts, supported lodging and transportation negotiations, multiple caterers and menus, and oversaw the multi-day event flow from start to finish.

One of the most loved features was a live laser engraving station where guests could choose an item and have it customized on the spot. Another highlight was a spinning photo wall, designed to bring movement and storytelling into the experience in a playful, unexpected way. Because everything took place in the family’s home, I also learned the history behind the art and heirlooms throughout the space and gave house tours to help guests feel even more connected to the celebration.

I also managed challenges in real time, including refiguring transportation when the buses couldn’t fit in the driveway. This was an event rooted in hospitality, legacy, and thoughtful design, and it was a privilege to bring it to life with such care and intention.
